它起源于1890年美達菲格蘭比總校
如今，值此132周年校慶之際
上海美達菲學校舉行了盛大的燭光之夜
為新的學年拉開了帷幕
同時美達菲大家庭也迎來了新生的加入

Candlelight Partyis a well-known and traditional event at the MacDuffie School.It originated from the Granby General School in 1890.Now, on the occasion of the 132nd anniversary of the school, Shanghai MacDuffieSchool held a grand candlelight night to mark the beginning of the new school year.At the same time, the MacDuffiefamily also welcomed new members.Let"s take a look back at the best moments from the scene.
美達菲之夜，上海美達菲全體師生齊聚操場，一起期待著今晚的The MacDuffie School Candlelight Party的開始。在Candlelight Party現場，美麗的夜色中充滿溫馨的氣息，歡快舒緩的音樂圍繞耳邊，伴隨著音樂的節奏，同學們紛紛揮動起手中的燭光，閃閃的燭光點燃了每個人心中的熱情，每個人都沉浸在歡樂的海洋中。
On the MacDuffie School Candlelight Party , all teachers and students of Shanghai MacDuffie School gathered together in the playground and looked forward to the start of the Candlelight Party. On the Candlelight Party site, the beautiful night was full of warm atmosphere, cheerful and soothing music around. Along with the rhythm of the music, the students waved the candlelights in their hands. The shining candlelight ignited the enthusiasm in everyone"s heart. Everyone was immersed in the ocean of joy.

學生們在活動中培養興趣，陶冶情操，開闊視野，鍛煉能力，找到自信，發展特長，收獲成功感和幸福感，豐富了校園文化生活，營造了濃厚的校園藝術氛圍，真正實現了“懷中國心 做世界人”的辦學理念。
In the activities, the students cultivatedtheir interests andsentiments, broadenedhorizons, exercisedabilities, improvedconfidenceandgaineda sense of success and happiness, enrichingthe campus cultural life, creatinga strong campus art atmosphere, and truly realizingthe school-running philosophy of "Being a global person with a Chinese heart".
晚會的壓軸部分，是由全校學生圍成一個大圓圈，共同見證篝火的點燃，它象征著美達菲對全體學生的熱烈歡迎與新學年的啟航，伴隨著精彩的燈光秀，興奮激昂的氣氛彌漫了整個操場。將活動氣氛推向了高潮。
The final part of the party was that the whole school students formed a big circle to witness the lighting of the bonfire, which symbolized the warm welcome to all the students and the start of the new school year. With the wonderful light show, the exciting atmosphere filled the whole playground, pushing the activity to the climax.
熱烈后的沉默能夠讓人有更多的思考。此時此刻，全體師生手捧燭光，靜默30秒，思考Circle value對自己的意義。美達菲的價值觀：集體、正直、尊重、創造力、領導力、卓越，看似是六個簡單的詞，但對于每個不同的個體而言，卻有著特殊的意義。
The silence after warmth could inspire us to think more. At this moment, all teachers and students held candlelights and kept silent for 30 seconds, thinking about the meaning of Circle Value to themselves. As the value of MacDuffie--community, integrity, respect, creativity, leadership, excellence, may seem just to be six simple words, however, they have a special meaning for each special individual.
耀眼的火焰、閃爍的燭光
不僅再一次點燃了在場每一個人的激情
更傳遞了所有美達菲人的夢想
希望上海美達菲學子們
可以通過這場意義非凡的傳統活動
一起尋求集體的溫暖與治愈的力量
并且能夠把這份正能量傳播下去
擁抱健康生活，創造美好未來！
A dazzling flame, a flickering candle
Not only did theyignite the passion of everyone present once again
but also deliveredthe dream of all the MacDuffie
