近日,National Economics Challenge(NEC)全美經濟學學術活動結果揭曉,ASJ 6位學子突破超2萬名參與者的重圍,獲得多項佳績。

“最強”經濟學學術活動
NEC,全稱National Economics Challenge全美經濟學學術活動,是由美國經濟教育學會主辦的極具影響力的高中生經濟學學術活動。經過20年的發展與積累,賽事每年有超過2萬名學生受邀參與,賽事與參賽者均得到了華爾街知名金融機構、美國頂尖大學的廣泛支持與認可。據統計,每年均有超過60%的NEC參賽學生被美國藤校和英國G5等一流名校錄取。
在2016年引入中國后,NEC覆蓋到全國20多個省份和地區、300多所學校,成為中國含金量最高的經濟學科活動之一。
NEC的通過經濟學測評、案例大剖析、經濟創新問答以及經濟超級碗四大環節對參賽學生進行評價。分別側重于考察參賽者對經濟學基礎知識的認知和掌握、科學運用經濟學知識的能力、審辯性思維、團隊協作能力、臨場應變能力等綜合能力。

參加本次NEC比賽最大的感想是人外有人天外有天。因為是全國性的比賽,所以參加競賽的同學多是有較好的英語和經濟基礎的人,同時較PRE組別的難度更大,因此對參賽人的要求更高。因為這次參賽經歷,讓我不滿足于現在,選擇繼續向前努力。

這次競賽參與的組別與往年有所不同,所以題目難度也有所提升,明顯地感覺到答題時沒有去年這么得心應手。但同時在學術上也得到了提升,學習了更多課本上沒有的知識。

非常感謝輔導的Neo老師以及我的隊友,我認為參與這次競賽是一次難能可貴的經驗,所以我非常珍惜這樣的機會,而我也在不斷學習新知識提升自己的能力、并學會從經濟學的角度出發思考問題。

通過參加本次競賽,本人學習了更多的經濟學相關知識,競賽途中相關思維能力也得到了鍛煉提升。
DSE課程
助力提升財商素養
NEC對經濟理論的概念辨析、對國際時事的同步跟進以及對真實案例的綜合探究,都考驗著學生的財商素養和審辯思維。而ASJ在高中階段,主要開設香港HKDSE課程,在核心科目之外,還開設了經濟類選修科目,激發學子對經濟學科的興趣,培養學生的經濟學基礎知識和科學運用經濟學知識的能力,引導學生以審辨性思維洞察世界。
徐騰淵Leibniz表示,ASJ的經濟選修課他的經濟啟蒙,老師上課生動有趣,對知識點的講解很全面,所以對經濟產生了濃厚的興趣。并開始在社交網站和平臺上看有關經濟發展的新聞和學術知識,利用課后時間與老師討論時事對經濟發展的影響,逐漸掌握更多的經濟學知識。而黎映彤Antonia也在第一個學期的接觸經濟課后,有了學習經濟學的興趣,決定將經濟學作為選修課程繼續學習。在ASJ課堂,老師會通過結合生活中的實際例子和時事新聞進行講解,幫助學子快速理解、掌握知識,讓學子獲得經濟學基礎知識的同時,培養其審辯式思維,為學子提供多元成長機會。
Recently, the National Economics Challenge (NEC) was announced, and six ASJ students wonseveral awards.
The "Best"Economics Academic Event
The National Economics Challenge (NEC) is a highly influential academic event for high school students sponsored by the American Institute for Economic Education.After 20 years of development andaccumulation, more than 20,000 students are invited to participate in the event every year, and the event and the participants are widely supported and recognized by famous financial institutions on Wall Street and top universities in the United States.According to statistics, more than 60% of NEC participating students are admitted to top schools such as U.S. Ivy League schools and UK G5 schools every year.
After its introduction to China in 2016, the NEC has reached more than 20 provinces andregions and 300 schools across China.
The participating students will be evaluated through four segments: economicsassessment, case analysis, economic
innovation quiz and economic super bowl.The participants" knowledge and mastery of economics fundamentals, scientific application of economics knowledge, critical
thinking,teamwork ability, and adaptability to thesituation are examined respectively.

The biggest impression of NEC is that there is always someone better. Because it is anational competition, most of the participants have a good English and economic foundation, and it is more difficult than the PRE category, so the requirements for the participants are higher.Because of this experience,I am not satisfied with the present and choose to continue to work hard.

This year"s competition was different fromprevious years, so the difficulty of thequestions was also increased. But I alsolearned more that wasn"t in the textbook.

I am very grateful to my mentor Neo and my teammates, and I think it was a valuable experience to participate in this competition, so I treasure this opportunity.I am constantly learning new things to improve my skills and learn to think from the perspective of economics.

DSE helps enhance financial literacy
The NEC tests students" financial literacy and critical thinking through conceptual analysis of economic theories, simultaneous follow-up of international current affairs and
comprehensive investigation of real-life cases.In addition to the core subjects, ASJ also offers economics elective subjects to stimulate students" interest in the subject, develop students" basic knowledge of economics and guide them to use critical thinking to gain insight into the world.
Leibnizsaid that the economics elective course was his introduction to economics, and the teacher was very interesting and comprehensive in explaining the knowledge points, so he became interested in economics. He began to read news and academic knowledge about economic development on social networking sites and platforms, and used the time after class to discuss with the teacher the impact of current events on economic development, gradually acquiring more knowledge about economics.
Antonia also became interested in studyingeconomics after her first semester of exposure to economics classes and decided to continuestudying economics as an elective course.
In ASJ , teachers will help students to quickly understand and grasp the knowledge bycombining real-life examples and currentnews, and provide students with theopportunity to grow in diversity by gaining a basic knowledge of economics while alsodeveloping an interrogative mindset.
