本周二，我校A1年級學生與升學指導組老師們參加了于協(xié)和古北校區(qū)舉辦的第八屆春季大學展，在展會現(xiàn)場與世界各地百余所大學和教育機構面對面答疑咨詢。在協(xié)和古北校區(qū)的統(tǒng)籌安排下，參展院校群英薈萃、遍布世界各地：波士頓大學、羅切斯特大學、弗吉尼亞大學、南加州大學、杜倫大學、華威大學、澳大利亞國立大學、昆山杜克大學、上海紐約大學、博科尼大學、瑞士洛桑酒店管理學院、巴黎政治學院等等……
This Tuesday, our A1 Gradestudents joined the 8thSpring World University Fair at SUIS-Gubei campus, where they had the opportunity to talk to more than 100 universities and educational organisations from around the world. The University Guidance Counselling office of SUIS-Gubei ensured a remarkable list of university participants for this year’s fair, including Boston University, University of Rochester, University of Virginia, University of Southern California, Durham University, University of Warwick, Australian National University, Duke Kunshan, NYU Shanghai, Bocconi University, EHL, Sciences Po, and many more.

眾多知名院校的參展支持，是對協(xié)和各校區(qū)長期以來向美國、英國、加拿大、澳大利亞等國的頂尖院校穩(wěn)定輸送優(yōu)秀畢業(yè)生的最佳佐證。同時，展會現(xiàn)場同學們對不同國家大學的熱情，也真正體現(xiàn)了協(xié)和學子的多元化和國際化。
GraduatesofSUIShaveconsistently made it toworld-renowned universities around the globe and the supportof the admission officers from these colleges in this fair is a clear testimony to that. The students"high interestsfor universities in different countries really reflects the diversity and internationalization of our SUIS students.
據(jù)協(xié)和古北老師說，活動當晚共有400多名學生與家長來到現(xiàn)場，獲取各個學校有關學校信息、招生流程和申請要求的第一手資料。
According to teachers from SUIS-Gubei, more than 400 students and parents joined us for this higher education extravaganza last evening. They had a chanceto talk to university admission officers in person, getting first-hand information about each school, admission procedures, and application requirements.
對已經(jīng)有了大學初意向的A1學生來說，能夠與心儀院校的招生官面對面溝通，不僅讓他們準確了解了學校的招生要求，更重要的是，讓他們了解當?shù)匚幕痛髮W氛圍。志趣相投才能激發(fā)更多的火花與熱愛。
For A1 students who already had the initial intention of college, face-to-face communication with the admission officers of their favourite universities not only helps them accurately understand their admission requirements,but more importantly, they have gained a deeperunderstanding of the local culture and university atmosphere. Like-minded interests can inspire more sparks andpassion.
展后感

離開我們的老師后，我內(nèi)心一整天的沸騰、緊張和興奮終于達到了頂點。這個禮堂里擠滿了像我一樣的人，每個人對未來都抱著不同的夢想。在排隊的時候，我有機會和他們中的一些人交談。這是一次美妙的經(jīng)歷。距離上次和這么多來自不同背景的人聊天，已經(jīng)是很久之前的事情了。
雖然和大家聊天很愉快，但我今天的目標是了解更多關于我明年可能會去學習的大學。我首先來到的是弗吉尼亞大學代表的展位。我尷尬地問了我的問題。對我而言，大學絕不僅僅是一個學習的地方，更重要的是，大學生活。幸運的是，這位招生老師很高興地告訴我弗吉尼亞所有的自然美景，以及大學坐落的安靜小鎮(zhèn)的情況。
我之后訪問的來自南加州大學的代表也是如此。她滔滔不絕地談論著她在南加州大學學習時的體育賽事中感受到的興奮感，以及學校之間的友好競爭，尤其是和加州大學的競爭。
走出禮堂后，我在大廳里找到我的朋友們，急切地告訴他們我所了解到的一切，也不忘追問他們的收獲，聽聽他們得到了什么有趣的消息。
UNIVERSITY FAIR RESPONSE

Stepping away from the teachers, the nervous excitement that I’d felt bubbling within me all day finally reached its boiling point. Here was an auditorium full of people just like me, each harboring a different dream for the future. While waiting in line I had the chance to speak to some of them. It was a wonderful experience. It’s been quite some time since the last time I got to chat with so many people coming from different backgrounds.
As pleasant as it was to chat with people, my goal for the day was to learn more about the institutions that I might be studying in next year. My first visit was to the booth occupied by the representative from the University of Virginia. Awkwardly, I asked my question. Life at university had always been important to me, I won’t be there just to study, and luckily the representative was happy to tell me about all the natural beauty that Virginia had to offer and about quiet town the university is situated in.The same went for the representative from University of Southern California whom I visited next. She gushed about the euphoria that she experienced in USC’s sporting events while she was studying there and about the friendly rivalry that the school had with the near by University of California Los Angeles.
Exiting the auditorium I searched the halls for my friends, eager to tell them all that I’d learned and pester them about what interesting tid bits they had gotten their hands on.
