The Primary Years Programme Exhibition (PYPX) is the culmination of the Primary Years Programe (PYP). It is a milestone for IB students.

The topic of PYP Exhibition this year is “Sharing the Planet”. It gives the Y5 students the opportunity to design an inquiry from choosing a relevant global issue, conducting research, taking action and communicating their findings. One of primary objectives of the PYP is to develop internationally minded individuals who are prepared to face the global issues of the time. In ISA Tianhe, we love the earth, protect the environment, and encourage community members to learn how to better protect it, and to save our planet.
本學年的小學畢業成果展的主題是“共享地球”。在愛莎天河小學畢業成果展中,五年級的學生圍繞此主題開展一個與全球性相關的探究活動,他們在其過程中不斷地探索、探究、采取行動并交流和展示他們的發現和探究成果。國際文憑小學項目(IB PYP)的主要目標之一是培養具有全球意識的世界公民,為他們面對當今全球性問題做好準備。在愛莎天河學校,我們愛護地球,保護環境,并鼓勵社區成員學習如何更好地保護它,共同守護人類更美好的未來。

The format of this year"s exhibition was vastly different from previous. Instead of printed posters and paper, students used websites as displays to echo the theme, which is environmental protection and love for the earth. The articles written by the students will be published in the Student Voice Edition of the ISA Community Newsletter, when the students" works and ideas are respected and seen, they will be more confident and their idea of saving the earth will influence more people.
今年畢業展與以往的不同之處是學生們利用現代科技網絡,建立了一個屬于他們自己的網站,從而代替了打印紙張和海報的方式去展示成果,這與主題——“共享地球”相呼應,保護環境、愛護地球。同時,學生們寫的文章也將會發布在愛莎社區周刊——《愛莎舍》,當學生們的作品和想法得到了尊重和被看到時學生們也會更加自信,他們守護地球的理念才能影響到更多人。

The Teams

After choosing an inquiry topic, students worked in groups to develop a series of activities. In the team collaboration, students created their own central ideas, lines of inquiry, keys concepts and related concepts that belong independently and more specifically, and then came up with and implemented an action plan. Teamwork developed students" communication and collaboration skills, stimulated interest in learning, and enhanced their understanding of knowledge.
學生選擇探究主題后,以小組為單位展開系列活動。在團隊協作中,學生們設計探究單元的中心思想,探究線索,關鍵和相關概念,然后提出并采取行動。團隊協作有助于培養學生的溝通和協作能力、激發學習興趣、加強學生對知識的理解。

In the inquiry process, students developed their inquiry and learning skills. Students chose their own topic, activities, teamwork, and presentation with strong support from the teachers and the school, which was cultivating students’ inquiry and learning skills. Students fully demonstrated the characteristics of IB students, which are communication, Thinking, Self-management, Social, and Research skills. Additionally, students understood the importance of academic integrity, such as how to use a bibliography or reference list at the end of the articles.
在探究的過程中,從選擇主題、探究活動、團隊協作到展示均由學生自主選擇,老師和學校給予學生們支持,這有助于培養學生們的自主探究能力和學習能力。學生也充分展示了IB學子的特質,將思考技能、研究技能、交流技能、社交技能、自我管理技能運用到畢業成果展中。同時,學生們懂得學術誠信的重要性,在作品中如何運用書目或參考文獻列表。
The school provided rich resources and strong support for Y5 students’ PYPX. Students had Field Trips on different topics, such as first-hand experiences, expert interviews, surveys, artifacts, investigations and observation activities. The diverse activities provided students with a deeper understanding of the topic of inquiry.
學校為五年級學生提供豐富的探究活動資源和支持,開展不同主題的戶外探究活動,如直觀地體驗、專家訪談、數據調查、手工制作、觀察活動等。通過多元的活動,學生對探究的主題有了更深刻的理解。

After the inquiry process, the Y5 students fully understood the topic and presented their achievements to ISA community members and parents. The students presented their research and achievements in a 15-minute presentation. During the presentation, they conveyed the purpose, process, and results of their inquiry to the audience and encouraged more members of the ISA community to participate in their inquiry project.
在經過多方面的探究后,五年級的學生充分理解主題并向愛莎社區成員與家長展示了他們的成果。孩子們用15分鐘的演講闡述他們的研究和發現。展示過程中,他們將探究的目的、過程、成果傳達給觀眾,鼓勵更多學校社區成員參與到他們的探究項目中。
Through the PYPX, students receive comprehensive development that will benefit them for their whole life. In Tianhe, we focus on fostering a sense of social responsibility in our children, so the topic of PYPX was closely linked to community development. Students reached out to local charities, consulates, and enterprises to explore and understand the relevance of the global issues they were exploring to their communities. The students" research and sense of responsibility for the planet will continue to influence more people to become globally conscious global citizens. We believe that the students will continue their journey of inquiry and implement the IB"s philosophy of lifelong learners.
通過小學畢業成果展,學生們得到全面的發展,讓他們受益終身。在愛莎天河,我們注重培養孩子的社會責任感。因此,本次小學畢業成果展與社區發展緊密相連。學生們深入當地慈善機構、領館、企業,探索和理解他們的所探究的全球性問題與社區的相關性。學生們的研究成果和守護地球的責任感定將持續影響更多人,成為一名具有全球意識的世界公民。我們相信學生們將在探究的路上繼續前進,踐行IB終身學習理念。
